Abdullah Yusuf - Politics - The University of Dundee

Dr Abdullah Yusuf studied Public Policy, Economic Policy and Diplomacy in The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia and has a PhD from the University of Dundee, where he has taught on the Politics and International Relations programme since 2003.  He is currently a Teaching Fellow in International Relations and, in addition, is also a visiting lecturer at the Al-Maktoum Institute,Dundee where he teaches post-graduate courses in Globalisation, Political Islam and International Relations.

Research

Dr Yusuf's current research interests cover the following areas: the politics of International peacemaking, peacekeeping and peace-building; International law and the use of force, United Nations collective security law; the Persian Gulf War (1990-1991) and International Relations – radical Islamist movements; Political Islam, Al-Qaeda's ideology and strategy.
